This universal joint has been used many times over for the 1962-1974 Chrome bumper MGB when a smaller universal joint will sometimes be required for header clearance, or just a replacement for a worn out and rusted original. The GM 2.8, 3.1, and 3.4L V6 conversions sometimes need the engine moved from side to side which can cause slight interference. Always check and clearance your headers, and if the universal joint is too close, this unit can help.
Many universal joints are in less than ideal condition. To achieve the best "steering feedback" and remove steering wheel wiggle, it may be best to replace this universal joint every 50 years... or so.
Note: This universal joint is shorter than the original. It works well, but the length is split between the two shafts.
